Meet Michele Lazarow
In more than three decades as a resident of Hallandale Beach, I have watched our sleepy beach community grow into a thriving metropolitan city.
My family moved to Hallandale in 1980. I attended Hallandale High School before leaving to attend college in New York City. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The New School for Social Research, I returned to South Florida to be with my family. I’ve never left and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
My mother, Phyllis Lazarow, has owned a successful salon on Hallandale Beach Boulevard for 30 years. During this time, she has earned a reputation as a hard-working, community-minded small business owner and employed countless Hallandale Beach residents over the years.
After purchasing my home in Three Islands, Venetian Park in 2001, I followed my mother’s lead and opened my own local business, Absolutely Fabulous. Through my shop, I met countless community members, first as customers and ultimately as friends. It was with their encouragement that I decided to change my course in life to better serve my community.
As your city commissioner, I have championed numerous issues to improve our community. My first campaign promise of removing the red-light cameras was achieved within a few months of my election. Read More....
