Michele Lazarow is an Activist, Leader and Organizer

"Elected as your City Commissioner, I will speak my mind, fight for what is right, and stay the course until I achieve my goals."

Experienced Hallandale Beach Business Owner Will Fight For You

After purchasing my Venetian Park home in 2001, I followed my mother’s lead and opened my business, Absolutely Fabulous, on the street formerly known as “Schmata Row.”

Listening to Local Residents' Concerns for the Community

Michele Lazarow's sense of civic responsibility began as a result of the inability of local government to prohibit a pet store from selling chronically ill puppies to unsuspecting consumers.

About Michele Lazarow

Making our city as safe as possible must always be a priority for an elected official. That is why I lead the charge to implement the use of police body cameras to protect both our residents and our first responders. They have already proven themselves to be worthwhile, affirming the actions of one of our police officers in a fatal shooting.

I have sponsored legislation to help Hallandale Beach residents who live with disabilities by making our beaches more accessible and passing laws to protect service animals who are the lifeline to those who need them.

I have voted to keep our taxes low while simultaneously trying to keep our public services high. I believe that our $100 million budget could be better spent without the years of tax increases others on the commission have voted for.

I have encouraged smart development in Hallandale Beach while voting against projects that our roadways and infrastructure cannot handle. I share the concerns of those who are frustrated with the amount of traffic Hallandale Beach is now facing. Quality of life for our residents has been and will continue to be my first priority.

My other interests are passing legislation concerning animal welfare. I have championed the “puppy mill anti-cruelty law” throughout Florida. This law, which I first spearheaded in Hallandale Beach as a resident, has now passed in more than 50 Florida cities and counties with the numbers increasing every day. This momentum shows that stopping animal cruelty is a serious issue for not only Hallandale Beach, but for people everywhere.

As your city commissioner, I will continue to keep an open door. Whatever your concerns, I will always be here to listen and am committed to keeping an open mind.
